Songs in my Head: Anniversary Countdown

In less than a month Travis and I will be celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary. So in honor of our 10th, I am posting a song a week that reminds me of our relationship (in total cheeseball fashion, of course).

As anyone who is married knows, marriage is not all rainbows and roses. When you're staring into your spouse's eyes saying your vows it is hard to imagine the"for worse" part. But the "for worse" part will come (in hindsight it may turn out to be a small speedbump instead of a pothole). Travis and I are no different and have experienced speedbumps and potholes. But no matter what we have always stood by each other.

Stand By Me By: Ben E. King

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh now now stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
And the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me, stand by me-e, yeah

Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me, oh now now stand by me
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me

Darlin', darlin', stand by me-e, stand by me
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me
