Zella's New Glasses

Zella got glasses when she was seven months old. Many people ask me how we knew she needed them at such a young age. It was obvious because her eyes were completely crossed. I noticed it at four months, and by six months strangers were pointing and making comments. I'm so thankful the glasses have helped correct her strabismus.

Here's Zella at six months:

Her first pair looked like this:

We loved those cute glasses (after we got used to them, anyway). But Zella hated the strap that held them on. She would whip them off and throw them to the ground. So she graduated to frames that had cables to go around her ears. They were pink with yellow rubber duckies. And we got used to them too. Until Zella started to hate the cables. She was ready for big girl glasses.

Here's her second pair:

Zella really knew what she wanted for her next pair. She had very specific requests: pink or purple princess glasses with butterflies and jewels. I was skeptical and told her we had to see what was available. But we found just what she wanted!

Disney Princess Aurora eyeglasses in pink/purple.

And how cute are these??? Seriously! Our little Zella has grown up so much and now she has the big girl glasses to prove it.
